The Kettering Fairmont High School Orchestra Department features four concert orchestras and several smaller string ensembles. With over 250 students, the orchestra program continues to meet the needs of all of our students. Symphony Orchestra has consistently earned Superior Ratings at OMEA events and performs concerts several times each year Fairmont. Symphony Orchestra was selected to appear at the 2005 and the 2008 Ohio Music Education Association Professional Conference in Cincinnati, Ohio.  Philharmonia Orchestra has also consistently earned Superior Ratings at OMEA events, and performs at school orchestra concerts. Starting in 2014, there will be two Concert Orchestras that both participate in OMEA events and perform at school orchestra concerts.  The orchestra department continues to expand on the traditional performance with special guests The Section Quartet, Chris Allen and the Ohio City Singers, Alex DePue, and Barrage all sharing the stage with our students.  Classical guest artists from Nicola Benedetti, the Jupiter Quartet, the Modigliani Quartet, amongst others, have been involved in clinics at Fairmont.  The Fairmont Orchestra’s annual November Rock Show has become a favorite of our students and adults alike. The orchestra department, along with wind and percussion players from the band department, provides the pit orchestra for the annual spring musical production.  Director of Orchestras is Richard Wright. Assistant Orchestra Directors are Michelle Dennis, Rebecca Solomon, and Anna Bumiller.
