Marching Arts

The Fairmont Marching Firebirds, under the direction of Matthew Phillips, have been named a Bands of America regional finalist, grand champion at numerous OMEA and MidStates Band Association events, and have consistently received superior ratings at OMEA marching band events for the past three decades.

Marching/pageantry arts play a major role within the Kettering Music program; as some of the more visible ensembles amongst our community, our marching activities set the tone for expectations of quality, school community, and student achievement.  We seek to enhance these community expectations from this inside - providing our students with world class education, numerous opportunities for student engagement, and creating life changing experiences.

We believe that the skillsets, character traits, and relationships built through the marching arts help to create a well-rounded individual; we also firmly believe that these skills, habits, and traits can healthily see our students to, and through, young adulthood.  

The Marching Arts play a prominent role within the music program for the Kettering City Schools.
